Planning to visit the southern Oregon coast? It won’t be complete without a stop in beautiful Gold Beach, located just 37 miles north of the California border in Oregon’s “banana belt.” Gold Beach has more sunny days than anywhere else on the coast – and more to offer too. This little sea town is located on Highway 101, but you’ll want to stop for awhile to truly experience all we have to offer.
Things are different here. From May through October, jet boats offer excursions up the wild and scenic Rogue river. The scenery is breath-taking and wildlife such as elk, deer, cougar and an occasional bear may be spotted. Excellent fishing guides are on hand to help land that salmon or steelhead that make the Rogue river fishing second to none. Ocean charters are also available for your fishing or sightseeing pleasure. Don’t worry if you forgot your fishing gear, we’ll make sure you can find what you need.
If you’re looking for a little slower pace, we’re proud to offer it here. Our beaches are long, clean and beautiful – the perfect place to take the stress of a busy life away. Our hiking trails are incredible. We have one of the finest wind surfing environments around. Kayakers have excellent conditions too. A variety of restaurants are ready to serve up a culinary delight – whether it be local seafood or other specialty. Art galleries, gift shops, book stores, and shops with Oregon myrtlewood carvings all await you. Stop by one of our coffee shops and learn more about the area from the friendly Gold Beach residents. When you’ve finished your adventures of the day, our innkeepers invite you to relax in their quiet getaways. Gold Beach offers one of the best selections of motels with oceanfront or river views and gazing at the sky is always available.
